Hi Matt! Where are you from?
I was born in Boonton, NJ a small town in Northern New Jersey.
What is your title/role at dbtech? What are your responsibilities in that role?
I am the Manager of Special Projects at dbtech. I customize our software for customers. My computer programming expertise combined with my extensive domain knowledge from my previous position in hospital IT management allows me to create effective and efficient solutions that will help solve any customer problem.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
The favorite part of my job is helping on the digital transformation of healthcare facilities. Clinical healthcare has traditionally been behind on adapting to new technology and has a lot of gatekeepers that resist change and the free flow of information. I enjoy the challenge of helping to automate processes and make data more accessible and transparent to everyone.
What would you say are some of your best skills?
My analytical systems skills are some of the best skills that I utilize on a daily basis. It’s important to see the whole of system in an environment so that you can work on adapting the best solution to fit in the constraints of other externalities. If you can visualize the entire system with the new solution in place, you can better see unrelated parts that may need to change as the processes evolve. Then it becomes a lot easier to make the computer fill in the blanks.
What do you like to do for fun outside of work?
I enjoy a wide variety of activities when I’m not at work. I enjoy boating on the Navisink River, watching old movies, and I can be found in my workshop building furniture or attending the monthly Mensa gathering.
